Sometimes you just can't seem to find where to put something or whether or not something is even on the site yet. This section is where you can post any questions regarding the site, the layout, character profiles, rules, or even the RPG itself (though refrain from asking for current event updates here).
Here are some questions that tend to be most common and don't worry most everyone will ask some of them:
Q: Are there any actual rules on this site?
A: Yes, they are posted in the General Information section.
Q: Are we allowed to swear on this site?
A: Yes and no. While we do allow it, we do not by any means condone it. If the situation calls for it sure, but if you're just cursing and swearing for the sake of cursing and swearing or because you don't like another player then absolutely not. We try to keep this site open to both younger and older players so try to keep any swearing to a minimum if possible.
Q: I'm confused by all the different areas, how do I post in this RPG?
A: Directions on how to post in provided in the General Information section. Don't worry it will take some time to get used to posting and everyone makes mistakes.
Q: Can I make up my own Race?
A: Yes you can, as long as you have it approved by the administration first.
Q: Can I make my own abilities/magic/spells?
A: Yes you can, but again you must have them approved by the administration before introducing them to a character already in circulation or putting them on a new character submission.
Q: Where can I find out how to make a character?
A: In the Character Profiles section there is a thread called Character Profile Layout. In that thread there should be all you need to create your very own character.
Q: Where do I put my new character now that I've put all my hard work and time into it?
A: You can submit your character for approval by posting it in the Character Profiles section, not to be confused with the Character Profile Layout thread.
Q: Where is the post button in the Character Profile section? I can't find it!
A: To actually post your character's profile you must click the 'new thread' button in the Character Profiles section. This will bring up the Post Message screen. Here you will put the name your character goes by in the RPG as the subject and your actual profile in the message portion.
Q: How many characters can I have?
A: While we advise most players to stick with one character, some people want to play multiple characters. Because of this we have a maximum of three characters per player. Keep in mind that all characters you create must be played and cannot just be left unplayed (if you no longer wish to play a character tell one of the administration and that character's profile will be removed from the site).
Q: What is an NPC and how do I use one?
A: An NPC is a Non-Player-Character. In other words, it is any character that is in the RPG, but is not actively played by any player. An NPC could be someone like your character's mother or father (you wouldn't actually play them, but they are there and at times will actually do something small when in certain situations). In order to use an NPC all you have to do is give it a name, a small personality, and then use it in a post. NPC's do not usually play a very large roll in things, unless the person running the current plot-line (most likely one of the administration) has made them for that reason (ie. the bad guy).
Q: How many NPC's am I allowed to have?
A: While we discourage having millions of NPC's we do not have any actual limit as to how many you can be using at a time.
Q: What are plot-lines and subplot-lines (plots and subplots)?
A: A plot or a subplot is basically a story or a chain of events that players can partake in. They could be anything from retrieving a lost puppy to stopping the evil demon from destroying the world. Plot-lines tend to be large scale stories (ie. Faethaven suddenly becomes infected with a nasty sickness; it involves everyone and usually can't really be avoided) that all players could partake in if they choose to, while subplot-lines are low scale stories (ie. A few players want to go on a hunting trip and get lost in the forest; not everyone has to be involved and it can be easily avoided or run into) that a few players can take part in.
Q: I have a great idea for a plot/subplot am I allowed to use it?
A: You are welcome to create plots, that's the point of the site. You can create as many as you want. Simply remember that your character cannot be in ten places at once, and you must finish what you start in regards to plots.
If your plot is very large, and likely to last a long time, you need to make a description of your plot, and a list of its major NPC's and send it to one of the two admins for approval. You don't have to reveal your entire plot, but we want to make sure that it is appropriate and that you are committed to actually running it.
Make as many small plots, subplots, as you please. These do not need to be submitted for approval.
The admins will run most large scale plots, but suggestions as to what you would like to see happen are welcome; voting polls will be posted sometimes, allowing players to vote on things to come.
Q: I can't find the thread that I was last posting in, where'd it go?
A: Most likely if it has been quite awhile since the last post in the particular thread then it is probably locked, but if you want to find it then click the search button in the top menu bar and look up the subject of the thread (what it was called), or a phrase in one of the posts in that thread, or even the name of who posted the thread.
