((Sorry guys, but with a few people still needing to post that they're at least going to bed or something and quite a few still actually posting we can't just jump to the next day just yet. Sorry to hold you back, but that's the rub with passing time so quickly on your own.))

*sigh*Sure... Auntie Marina sends ME to go check up on the arena winner for today.
An elf makes his way to the arena. He yawns as he looks over the list to check on the placement of the competitors for the day.
She doesn't need any more bodygaurds, but I geuss she needs to keep up appearances to prevent suspicion from spreading.
While he's looking over the list, he is told one of the top three fighters had just regained consciousness in the infirmary, and decides to head to the infirmary to meet up with this person.
After all... it would be easier to find someone you know where they are

((Curse you Saku! )) Val was still drifting in and out of sleep, and was really unable to get any good rest, contrary to what he had hoped. Again he awoke, and decided that he probably wouldn't be able to stay asleep. So, he resigned himself to staying up for a bit, perhaps even leaving during the night. For now, though, he just sat up in his bed, looking around in the darkness. He had to start planning for tomorrow anyway, so what better time than now? Soon, he heard footsteps coming down towards his room, and he readied himself to grab his halberd, in case one of the arena fighters wasn't happy with the outcome, and wanted some revenge. Why they would want it on the person in third, he couldn't fathom, but he was easily acessible, so it wasn't completely impossible. The footsteps got closer and closer.

((I love my job ;D))
Slowly Saku made his way down the hall to the infirmary. He was a little bothered by the low lighting, but figuring there wasn't much people around, he didn't ready himself in anyway, except holding a small ice spell in his hand. As he approached the door, he noticed it was eeriely quiet.
Even for an infirmary, this is a bit quiet. Saku muttered to himself. He walked in the doorway, but had to adjust to the light in the room. He saw the outline of someone sitting in a nearby bed.
Are you the fighter who finished third? ((((*If Val is jumpy, he might strike before Saku says this line*))))

Val eyed the stranger suspiciously.
"I am. Who are you, and why would you come to find me at this time of night?"
Val could generally perceive that there was no threat to him, so he let his halberd lean back against the wall beside his bed. However, he didn't take his eyes off the elf, not willing to trust just his instincts alone.

My name is Saku. I work for the House of Marina Blizzarin. My employer would like to employ one of the top three fighters from the last tournament. I heard the third place fighter was still here, and figured it would be easier to find them then search around town for the other two. Would you like to accept the proposal?

Val continues to eye up the man.
"Hmm, I could use a steady job, rather than living off the arena forever. I assume since you are asking tournament fighters that you are in need of a bodyguard of some sort? If so, I will take you up on your offer upon, of course, a meeting with your House ruler, and more information on the job. However, I reserve the right to leave if I deem it so necessary, with adequete notice. I hate to be restrained from my freedom, but don't worry, I won't bail on this job if I do take it, I just like to keep my options open." Val spoke carefully, essentially making sure to cover his own ass. He didn't like to be held down, especially by something like a job. He'd do his best, but his freedom was important, perhaps the most important thing to him.

Don't worry, I'm sure the mistress of the house won't mind giving you some flexibility. There are of course some rules, but overall, I have to admit she is much different then most others.
Saku noticed the tenseness of Val
There's no need to be up tight, although I can understand. But trust me, I don't mean any harm. Its just an offer. You can take it or leave it.

Val loosened up, coming to trust Saku more.
"Alright, I take your offer. Where and when do I go?" Val asked.

A letter is waiting for you in the morning from Lady Gistina Harmorell. It reads:
To Mister Val Mistpelt,
I felt compelled to write having witnessed your injury to inquire as to your health. It was a treacherous blow to the head, and cost me quite a bit of money. However, having met you previously and experiencing your kind and gallant manner, I can only imagine you lost on sheer mischance, in distraction from our discomfiting encounter. Your skill was great, even in the eyes of my bodyguard, who is not easily impressed.
I feel I also must apologize for my abhorrent behavior in the stands previous to your match. It was not my intent to place you in such an uncomfortable situation; I was simply excited to have been meeting a noble arena fighter. I also apologize on behalf of my ill tempered suitor, Gosch. I daresay I have cast him aside after he proved himself such a vagrant individual.
I should like to make things right by you, kind sir, perhaps by offering you temporary employment to make up for to incident at the arena. Enclosed are directions to my family's mansion, in the hopes that you would be so kind as to attend me at your earliest convenience before the luncheon hour. I would be willing to pay up to five times the check of an arena champion for a single evenings work. Thank you in advance for your time, and once more, my most sincere apologies.
Waiting with anticipation, Madame Gistina Harmorell

I would like you to meet at the House Blizzarin. If you know where that is, you need not come until tomorrow evening when the lady is expected to have finished her meeting.
(OOC: I'm not sure how you want to handle the letter... you can respond this time around as if you received the letter before I came if you so wish Val)
